Black women continue to face higher risks and barriers in maternal care, making it essential to have resources that are both accessible and culturally relevant. This space is designed to inform, connect, and highlight the importance of support, community, and change.

Black maternal health in the United States is rooted in a history of systemic racism, from the control of Black women’s bodies during slavery to ongoing discrimination in healthcare. These historical inequalities continue to shape the disparities Black women face during pregnancy and childbirth today.

Voices & Awareness

This section highlights real voices and experiences to bring awareness to what Black women face before, during, and after pregnancy. Through videos, interviews, and shared stories, it provides a deeper understanding of the realities behind the statistics and encourages informed awareness.

Although Black women make up just 14% of the U.S. female population, they account for approximately 40% of maternal deaths.
